Brazil will check crypto exchanges for violations

Brazil's tax authority will soon call foreign crypto exchanges not based in the country to explain their activities and how they cooperate with local service providers, government officials told Reuters on Monday.

The Internal Revenue Service is expected to issue a ruling this week calling on these companies to obtain more information. Unlike exchanges officially established in Brazil, they are not required to report transactions carried out on their platforms.
