In order to train law enforcement officers in India to combat narcotics, the NCB, in collaboration with other law enforcement departments of the Ministry of Home Affairs and with input from the crypto market, has developed training programs on digital forensics, the darknet and digital assets.

The NCB believes the new unit will enable law enforcement agencies in India to stop the import and movement of narcotics between states. In July, the new crypto unit has already detected about a hundred cases of digital assets being used to pay drug dealers and couriers.

Earlier, former Finance Minister Pankaj Chaudhary (Pankaj Chaudhary) told reporters that 28 major virtual asset service providers (VASPs) in India are assisting law enforcement agencies in combating criminal activities and illegal transactions in cryptocurrencies.
