At first, Morgan Stanley (NYSE:MS) clients will have access to only two U.S. spot ETFs based on the flagship currency, iShares Bitcoin Trust from BlackRock and Bitcoin Fund Wise Origin from Fidelity.

However, the bank's advisers will offer investments in bitcoin ETFs only to wealthy clients with a net worth of at least $1.5 million. In addition, they must have a high risk tolerance and be interested in speculative investments. Morgan Stanley representatives also clarified that investments in spot bitcoin-ETFs are only for taxable brokerage accounts and not for retirement savings.

Going forward, Morgan Stanley advisors will monitor client cryptocurrency holdings to ensure their returns.

The bank is not yet going to offer wealthy clients to invest in spot ether-based exchange-traded funds. However, even the fact that one of the largest lending institutions in the US is considering investing in two BTC-ETFs already, according to experts, signals a wider adoption of bitcoin among retail investors. All of this could lead to an increase in the price of the leading cryptocurrency.
